Information for North Flight Waterfowl Hunters
What to Expect on a Hunt with Us
We meet at 5:30 am as of 12-1-09 at the Exxon in Moses Lake across from the Motel 6, Super 8 and Interstate motel, and about 100 yards north of I-90 at the Broadway exit (exit 176). If you are staying at the Best Western the Exxon is right in front of the motel. At the gas station you will be able to get coffee, donuts, pop, water, snacks. We then drive 15-30 minutes to the field that we will be hunting. At that time we load everything up into the guides truck and drive out to the pits.
We then set out between 30 and 150 decoys. Everyone usually helps set all the decoys out. We are usually ready to go at shooting time and hunt until either our limits have been met, our shooting time is reached. We recommend bringing something to snack on and a drink.
What to Bring
We have a selection of hotels to stay at that will give you a North Flight Waterfowl Discount if you stay there. All of the motels are within a quarter mile of where we meet in the morning.
You may purchase your license online. If you are coming from out of state I recommend using this method, and you can use the receipt that you get to hunt immediately until your license arrives in the make. Go here to buy your online license.
Washington State law requires all individuals born after January 1, 1972 to show proof of basic hunter education training before purchasing a hunting license. You can take the class online. If you have a hunters education certificate you may use that to purchase your license in Washington. You need to have the certificate on hand if purchasing the license in Washington, or have the number when purchasing the license online.
Geese are excellent table fair if cooked correctly. There is very little fat on a goose, which gives them a great taste however they can dry out very easily. Go to this link to read about recipes that we recommend.
